Nassau County police are searching for someone who defaced a roadway with a swastika near Lido Boulevard and Glenwood Avenue in Point Lookout Saturday morning, officers said.

Authorities were dispatched to the scene of a criminal mischief call shortly after 5 a.m., police said.

An officer patrolling the area noticed five large traffic cones blocking off traffic and later saw that a swastika had been drawn in white chalk.

Obscenities and other offensive slogans were also written in the roadway, police said.

Police consider this to be a bias incident. Detectives ask anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
