Nassau County police are investigating a fatal car fire in Syosset, police said Wednesday.

Police responded to Southwood Circle and the intersection of Belmont Circle and found a 2006 Mercedes-Benz SL 500 on fire about 4:35 p.m., said Nassau Det. Vincent Garcia, a department spokesman.

“The interior was fully engulfed,” said Garcia.

The occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, Garcia said.

Syosset Fire Department officials responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze, Garcia said.

Police and fire officials were on the scene investigating.
