Syosset H.S. teen faces arraignment on drug possession
A teenager police said was found with his pockets stuffed with prescription pills, believed to be Xanax, is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in First District Court in Hempstead.
A teacher found John Chung, 17, of 11 Lincrest St., Syosset, in the men's bathroom at Syosset High School on Thursday with a plastic bag in his hand, police said.
Later, in an administrative office, Nassau County police said the teen was asked to empty his pockets and when he did, 44 full pills and 22 partial pills, all believed to be Xanax, fell from inside his pants.
Police arrested Chung Thursday at 9:45 p.m., and he was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of controlled substance.
