Residents at Syosset Mobile Home Park are anxiously waiting to find out when they'll be evicted.
According to a July 2 order from Nassau County District Court Judge Douglas Lerose, eviction warrants could be issued starting Friday. There are more than 20 remaining residents.
The park on West Jericho Turnpike has been embroiled in controversy since 2007, when STP Associates LLC purchased the land with the intention of developing it. The residents, who own their homes but not the land, have fought to stay.
While no warrants were served Friday, they could come any day.
"I may be living in my car tomorrow," said Theresa Walch, a mother of two who has lived at the park for two decades.
Residents have claimed that eviction procedures were not properly followed.
An attorney for STP did not respond to a request for comment.
