A 17-year-old from Valley Stream told police he was walking a village street Sunday night when a group of men jumped out of a red minivan, attacked him and robbed him of jewelry and his phone.

Nassau County police said the incident took place at 6:10 p.m. on Arkansas Road near Putney Road. Police said the victim sustained a facial laceration but did not require immediate medical attention.

The teen told police that five to seven men attacked him, and that he was punched and his cell phone and jewelry taken.

The attackers fled in the minivan, the teen told police.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
