A 16-year-old from West Hempstead was arrested early Wednesday and charged in connection with a street robbery of a 17-year-old early Tuesday in Lakeview, police said.

Nassau County police said that Courtney Robinson, 16, of Jena Court, and an accomplice stopped the 17-year-old as he was walking home from the bus stop on Woodfield Road at about 1 a.m. Tuesday and began punching and kicking the victim, knocking him to the ground. The two then stole an iPod touch, a cell phone and a wallet containing cash.

The victim suffered a contusion to his forehead and two of his teeth were chipped in the attack, according to police.

Robinson was charged with second-degree robbery. He is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.

The search is ongoing for the second suspect.
