A teenager was arrested Saturday and charged with the robbery of a woman last month as she walked down a New Cassel street, Nassau police said.

Larryson Charleston, 16, of New Cassel had punched the woman in the head as she walked on Garden Street at about 5:50 p.m. on Jan. 14, police said. Charleston allegedly knocked the woman to the ground, then stole her cell phone and ran off. The woman was taken to Nassau University Medical Center for treatment.

Charleston was arrested at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, and was charged with second-degree robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in First District Court in Hempstead.
