Police: Uniondale eatery robbed at knifepoint

Nassau County police are looking for a knife-wielding robber who took cash from a Uniondale eatery on Monday.
First Squad detectives said the suspect entered Tesoro Café, at 976 Front St., at about 8:15 p.m., displayed a knife and demanded that one of the employees, a woman, open the cash register.
He took an unspecified amount of cash and then ran south on Maple Avenue, police said.
There was only one other person, an employee, also a woman, in the restaurant at the time. No injuries were reported.
Police said the suspect is described as 20 to 30 years old, about 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds, wearing a dark ski mask, a maroon hooded sweatshirt with a gray shirt over it, and black knit gloves.
