A 26-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested in Valley Stream Wednesday afternoon, not long after police said he broke into a home on Charles Street.

Justin Brumell, of Riverdale Avenue, was charged with second-degree burglary and three counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property after his arrest at 3:15 p.m., Nassau County police said.

Police said Brumell also had proceeds from another burglary committed earlier in the day in Valley Stream.

According to police, a witness saw Brumell enter a backyard on Charles Street, then enter the home through a rear window. Police said Brumell stole jewelry, then fled, but was caught not long after on nearby Hookcreek Boulevard.

Police said that Brumell also had jewelry stolen earlier Wednesday from a home on Brookville Road.

Brumell is scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
