A man parking his car in Uniondale on Wednesday was robbed by a man who stole his chain, demanded cash and then ordered him to run, police said.

The incident occurred at 11:40 p.m. on Coleridge Road, Nassau County police said.

The victim, identified only as a man, 20, ran and hid behind another car as the robber ran off, police said. He was not injured.

Police said the victim was parking his car when the robber "approached his open driver's side door" and demanded a chain he was wearing. The robber's face was partially covered by a blue bandanna.

Police said the victim feared the robber had a weapon and gave him the chain. The robber then asked for cash. It was unclear if the victim handed over cash as well. Police said the robber then instructed the victim to run.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
