Nassau police are investigating a jewelry store burglary in Hewlett on Friday night.

One or more burglars shattered the glass of the front door at Hewlett Jewelers, 1344 Broadway, about 11 p.m. before smashing several display cases and making off with jewelry, police said.

The store's owner, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the burglar or burglars swiped an entire watch display from a locked showcase. She said she had not yet tallied the total value of the stolen watches.

No arrests have been made.

Detectives ask that anyone with information about the crime call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
