Thomas Kraft, of Port Washington, killed when his motorcycle hit SUV, police say

A Port Washington man was killed Monday when he drove his motorcycle into oncoming traffic in Atlantic Beach, Nassau County police said.
Thomas Kraft, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene about 5:30 p.m., after crashing his 2006 Kawasaki on Park Street near Nassau Avenue, police said.
Kraft was driving east on Park when he drove into the westbound lanes and was in a collision with a 2015 Mercedes-Benz SUV, police said.
The driver of the SUV, a man, 55, was taken to a nearby hospital along with his passenger, a woman; their injuries were non-life-threatening, police said.
No charges are pending, and both vehicles were impounded for brake and safety inspections.
