Thousands in Long Beach briefly lose power
More than 8,500 Long Beach residents were without power briefly Tuesday night, officials said.
The power went out about 7:48 p.m. due to a "voltage problem" at the Park Place substation near Long Beach City Hall, said Jeffrey Weir, a spokesman for PSEG Long Island.
Of the 8,518 customers impacted -- 3,937 lost power for 34 minutes; 1,162 lost power for 10 minutes and 3,419 lost power for eight minutes. Everyone had their power restored by 8:22 p.m.
The cause of the outage was under investigation, Weir said.
