A threatening email made toward buildings in the Long Beach school district has been deemed as not credible, the district’s superintendent said Thursday.

In a posting at the district’s website, Superintendent David Weiss said the threat was reported to both Nassau County and Long Beach police and that “both law enforcement agencies have determined that this is not a credible threat and there is no danger to our student and staff population.”

It’s at least the second threat made toward the district in the last nine days.

On Dec. 8, a 15-year-old student was arrested on a charge of making a terrorist threat after writing a message on his desk at Long Beach High School, Nassau County police said.

Weiss said in the Tuesday posting that as an extra precautionary measure the school will have an increased police presence, but that all classes and daily activities would proceed as normal.
