Third Squad detectives arrested three women on assault charges Tuesday after they allegedly pushed their way into a New Cassel home and beat an 11-year-old girl and her mother, Nassau County police said.

Police said the suspects -- Mayelyn Caminero, 17, of 71 Community Rd., Bay Shore; Yeimi Caminero, 19, of 926 Laurel Place, Valley Stream, and Crystal K. Capellan, 24, of 1097 Broadway, New Cassel -- went to the home around 6:20 p.m., shouting for the 11-year-old to come out and fight.

The three then pushed their way through the front door and assaulted the girl and her mother, 39, who tried to help her, police said in a release.

All three women were arrested as they tried to leave the house.

The girl and her mother were taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. Police said the girl had a cut on her left cheek and bruises on her forehead and nose. The mother had a sore shoulder and right arm pain, police said.

The defendants are charged with two counts of assault, burglary and endangering the welfare of a child.

Arraignment information was not immediately available.
