It's a beautiful morning.

But don't expect Columbus Day weather to remain so idyllic as the day wears on.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service warn thunderstorms are in our future, with buckets of rain expected overnight Monday into Tuesday.

That rain should continue through to the afternoon Tuesday before giving way to partly-cloudy skies. Sunny skies should return Wednesday.

Expect a high near 75 degrees Monday with sunshine throughout the day, forecasters said. Rain overnight is expected to bring about a half-inch of rain and cooling temperatures, which should remain in the high 50s - maybe, barely 60 degrees - on Tuesday when we should get another half-inch.

Overnight temperatures Tuesday will dip into the 40s. A high near 61 degrees is expected Wednesday, when sunshine returns, forecasters said.
