Top of tractor trailer sheared open on Northern

The top of a trailer on a semitruck was sheared open Monday on the Northern State Parkway in Hicksville when it struck the bridge at Cantiague Rock Road, State Police said.
No injuries were reported, a police spokesman said, but the right eastbound lane on the parkway was closed from at about 11:18 a.m., when the accident occurred, to 2:12 p.m.
Police had no additional details.
