An early morning tractor-trailer fire briefly closed the north service road of the Long Island Expressway along the Locust Grove-Jericho border Thursday, police said.
Nassau County police said the incident was reported at 5:55 a.m. and said it closed the service road between Robbins Lane and Exit 41, Route 106-107, until about 6:35 a.m.
Pictures from the scene show the truck, with a dump-truck style trailer carrier, with a fire near the rear right side of the trailer. Firefighters from Hicksville responded to the scene and doused the blaze.
