Traffic stop leads to drug, weapon charges
A Uniondale man pulled over Wednesday for traffic violations on the Southern State Parkway in North Valley Stream was arrested on charges he had brass knuckles and marijuana, State Police said.
Derron Howell, 23, is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of marijuana after being stopped at about 11:50 p.m. on the parkway near Exit 13, North Central Avenue.
Troopers interviewing Howell said they saw marijuana in his car, and during a search they found 6 grams of marijuana and the brass knuckles.
Arraignment information in First District Court in Hempstead was not immediately available.
