A tree trimmer was hospitalized in critical condition Monday after he came in contact with a high-voltage power line in Glen Head, police said.

The 44-year-old man, whose name was not disclosed, was trimming a tree in the rear yard of a Plymouth Drive South home about 4:11 p.m. He suffered serious burns to his body, Nassau police said.

Glenwood Fire Department volunteers were able to remove the man from the tree, police said, and he was airlifted by police helicopter to the hospital.
