A dump truck fire briefly closed two lanes of the eastbound Long Island Expressway in Plainview on Thursday and police said the south service road was also closed so that firefighters could run hoses.

The truck fire, near Exit 46, Sunnyside Boulevard, was reported at about 8:45 a.m.

The New York State Department of Transportation reported that the truck fire briefly closed the right and center lanes of the expressway.

The truck was cleared -- and the service road reopened -- at 11:23 a.m., the DOT said.

Nassau County police said no injuries were reported.
