A flatbed truck that apparently crossed over into oncoming traffic caused a seven-vehicle chain-reaction crash Monday morning at the intersection of Glen Cove Road and Hillside Avenue in Old Westbury, police said.

The flatbed truck was on Glen Cove Road when it crossed into the oncoming lane around 9:25 a.m., Old Westbury police said.

No serious injuries were reported, but there were several minor injuries, with ambulances transporting the injured to area hospitals, police said.

The truck rode up the front of a car in the other lane, and then four other vehicles behind the car rammed into each other, police said.

Police said no traffic summonses were issued and no arrests were made. Glen Cove Road was closed to traffic for more than an hour, they said.
