Police responding to a shots-fired call in Great Neck Sunday evening tracked down the suspects inside a car stopped in a nearby parking garage and arrested the two occupants.

Rodney D. Jackson, Jr., 21, of 13 High Court, Manhasset, was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing and second-degree reckless endangerment. Kyle M. Howard, 18, of 51 Circle Dr., Westbury, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Both face arraignment Monday in First District Court in Hempstead.

Nassau County police said the shooting incident occurred at 5:52 p.m. near the intersection of Susquehanna Avenue and Prospect Street in Great Neck.

A witness told officers that two men had been involved in an altercation and that one of the men "discharged a handgun" before the suspects fled in a Honda Civic. The car was located in the parking garage on Maple Drive, police said.

Police said the suspects were found to be in possession of "multiple clear plastic bags" containing marijuana and said the handgun was loaded when it was recovered at the scene.

No one was injured in the shooting incident, police said, though it was not clear what happened to the others involved.
