Two men were arrested after they tried to rob a man walking home from the Lakeview train station but found he had no money, police said.
Police said the incident occurred Monday at about 7:30 p.m. The victim, 22, was walking home from the Lakeview Long Island Rail Road station when Reshad Cameron, 20, of Dekoven Street, Rockville Centre, and Bobrick Gions, 18, of Waterview Drive, Lakeview, approached him on Woodfield Road, knocked him to the ground and demanded cash, police said. After the victim showed the two he had no money, they fled, police said.
The victim, who was not identified, went to a nearby house following the attack and called 911. Police said officers found Gions and Cameron on Eagle Avenue near Arthur Street and made the arrest.
The victim was uninjured, police said.
Cameron and Gions are charged with second-degree attempted robbery, Nassau County police said. Both are scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
