Two robbed at gunpoint in Valley Stream
Two men walking down a street in Valley Stream were robbed by two other men Monday night, police said.
The robbers, armed with a handgun, stole cellphones from the victims, then got into a blue Nissan Sentra driven by a third man and fled.
Nassau County police are searching for the robbers and are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
The armed robbery took place on Idaho Place at 10:43 p.m. Monday, police said.
The two assailants, armed with a handgun, approached the victims and rifled their pockets at gunpoint, stealing their cellphones.
Police said the robbers then fled north on Ivanhoe Place before entering the Nissan and driving off south on Hook Creek Boulevard.
One of the assailants was about 5-foot-10 with a thin build, police said. A black bandanna covered his face and he wore a purple bandanna on his head, in addition to a black hoodie and black jeans, police said. Police said the second assailant was about 5-foot-8, also with a thin build, and also wore a black bandanna on his face. He wore a white shirt and dark jeans, according to police.
