Two shoplifters hit CVS for $582 in goods
A CVS store manager in Elmont tried to foil a team of shoplifters but the suspects got away with $582 in stolen merchandise, according to Nassau police.
The theft, being investigated as a petty larceny, happened around 2:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at the CVS on Dutch Broadway. A customer told the manager that the two men were taking goods off shelves and loading up shopping bags, according to department spokesman Det. Vincent Garcia.
The manager stationed herself at an exit and tried to stop the suspects, but they fled -- leaving in an older-model green coupe, possibly a Chevrolet, and heading east on Dutch Broadway.
Police declined to say what merchandise was stolen.
Detectives asked anyone with information to call 800-244-TIPS.
