Two women suffered smoke inhalation in a fire that raced through a home in Hicksville Tuesday, Nassau County police and fire officials said.

One woman was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow.

The other was transported to another hospital, officials said.

The condition of the victims was not immediately known.

The fire at the home on Linden Boulevard was reported at about 9:45 a.m. Fire officials said volunteers from the Hicksville, Plainview, Bethpage, Levittown and Jericho fire departments responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
