Two westbound lanes of Southern State Parkway to be closed overnight, DOT says

To allow for tree-trimming, drain cleaning and other maintenance work, two westbound lanes of the Southern State Parkway in the Town of Hempstead are to be closed overnight Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., the state Department of Transportation said late Thursday afternoon.

The closure is between Central Avenue, Exit 13, and the Cross Island Parkway northbound exit ramp.

Two travel lanes will stay open, the DOT said.
