Two women hurt in hit-and-run accident
Nassau County police are investigating a Garden City Park hit-and-run accident.
Two women, 32 and 34, were crossing Herricks Road at about 10 p.m. Friday when a car traveling southbound hit them just south of Hillside Avenue, police said.
The driver left the scene without providing identification, officials said.
A witness at the scene described the car as either a tan Ford Crown Victoria or a tan Mercury Grand Marquis.
Both women were transported to an area hospital where they were treated for nonlife threatening injuries.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on accident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.
