Police are searching for a man who robbed a 7-Eleven store on Jerusalem Avenue in Uniondale on Sunday night.

The robbery occurred at 8:34 p.m., Nassau County police said. No one was injured.

Police said the suspect, described as being about 5-foot-10, 220 pounds, wearing a white adidas sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black shirt, baseball hat, white sneakers and a gray mask covering his face, approached the counter with his hand inside his sweatshirt pocket -- as if he was armed with a gun. He then demanded the clerk open the cash register.

After stealing an undisclosed amount of cash, police said the man fled on foot, going west on Jerusalem and then south on Meadowbrook Road.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
