Uniondale firefighters extinguish house fire, police say

Nassau County police and Uniondale firefighters responded to a blaze that engulfed a house early Saturday morning in Uniondale.
A Nassau police spokesman said they received a call at about 3:40 a.m. of two houses on fire on Newton Avenue. Firefighters at the scene found at least one of the homes fully engulfed.
Photos from the scene show thick smoke and flames coming out of the home’s windows and roof.
The spokesman said the Uniondale Fire Department extinguished the fire, and that there were no injuries reported.
Fire officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
