Driver sought in Uniondale hit-run that left pedestrian seriously injured, cops say

Nassau County detectives are looking for the driver of a vehicle who hit and seriously injured a pedestrian in Uniondale Sunday and then drove away.
Police said the hit-and-run accident happened at about 7:30 p.m., as a man, 40, tried to cross Jerusalem Avenue from the north, near the 500 block.
He was hit by a vehicle traveling west, police said, and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was admitted in serious condition with head injures.
The vehicle had front-end damage, and after hitting the victim it continued west, turning north onto Bedford Avenue, police said.
