Pedestrian struck, killed in Uniondale, police say

A 58-year-old man died after he was struck by an unknown vehicle in Uniondale on Friday night, police said.
The vehicle was being driven south on Uniondale Avenue at about 9:45 when it hit the man, police said.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, police said. Anyone with information should contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
