6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Clear Stream Avenue, Forest Road and Shaw Avenue elementary schools.

THE BUDGET

The district proposes a $34,050,116 budget for 2015-16, a 2.11 percent increase from the current $33,348,021. The local tax levy has no increase, remaining at $26,591,233 -- the same amount as the levy for 2014-15. This is within the state's tax-cap limit of 1.8 percent, so a simple majority vote will be required to approve the budget. The district did not provide the dollar amount of school tax on an average single-family home. The average single-family home paid $371.863 per $100 of assessed valuation under the 2014-15 budget.

The proposed budget includes raises for teachers totaling about 1.7 percent, and funding for six new full-time teachers and two part-time teachers.

A ballot proposition seeks authorization to spend money from the district's capital reserve funds to pay for several building improvements at the Clear Stream Avenue School, including construction of a one-story, 2,993-square-foot classroom addition, an elevator and resurfacing of play area asphalt. The expenditure will have no impact on the tax levy.
