Long Island Rail Road service has been restored after it was temporarily suspended on the Far Rockaway line because of a car fire on the tracks, officials said.

A Nassau police spokesman said the department received a 911 call reporting a car stuck on the tracks near West Broadway about 7:18 p.m. The driver was removed from the car, the spokesman said.

Meredith Daniels, an LIRR spokeswoman, said the car fire was on West Broadway, at the first crossing east of Gibson Station in Valley Stream.
