A fire Monday afternoon in Valley Stream left a house uninhabitable, according to Nassau police.

The occupants of the home, on Lyncrest Street, evacuated and there were no injuries, police said in a news release.

"The damage caused the house to be uninhabitable," the release said.

Police did not say what started the fire. The Arson Bomb Squad and Nassau County Fire Marshal are investigating.
