A Valley Stream man was arrested Tuesday morning on child pornography charges after a police investigation determined he was in possession of computer files with pornographic images of children and he "allowed those files to be shared online," detectives said.

Braulin Gonzalez, 36, of 159 Broadway, faces three counts of possession of sexual performance by a child following his arrest at 8:20 a.m. in Valley Stream, Nassau County police said in a news release. Gonzalez will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.

His arrest came after an investigation by the Internet child exploitation section of the crimes against property squad revealed he had "computer files pertaining to sexual performances by a child," police said in the release.

"On four separate occasions beginning in November 2011 to February of 2012, detectives were able to download files from Gonzalez by utilizing the defendant's online file sharing program," police said.
