Police are searching for as many as six men they say robbed and beat occupants of a house in East Meadow early Tuesday morning.

Nassau County police said the victims believed there were between four and six robbers, all male, and said they were in their late teens or early 20s.

At least one robber was armed with a handgun, police said. All wore masks or T-shirts covering their faces.

The robbery was on Woods Avenue at 2 a.m.

Police said the assailants entered the home through an unlocked front door and demanded money from the six people inside the house. The victims included men and women, ages 18 to 65, police said.

Two of the male victims were pistol-whipped by the robbers, police said, suffering head and facial fractures. They were taken to a hospital.

Police said the assailants took cash and a laptop computer and fled in a dark-colored auto, head east on Woods.

It was not immediately clear if the home was targeted.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the robbery and assault to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
