Detectives from the Narcotics/Vice Squad are urging victims of a Queens man who allegedly impersonated police to steal from prostitutes to come forward.
Nassau County police said in a news release Monday that they are looking for victims of Oumar Lougue, 40, of 94th Street in Elmhurst, who twice engaged prostitutes in 2009 and 2010 then took money from them after claiming to be an officer with the New York City Department of Correction.
Lougue is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and first-degree criminal impersonation.
Police said that on Dec. 12, 2009, in Jericho and then again on Oct. 1, 2010, in Plainview, Lougue "engaged prostitutes in sexual intercourse for money" and "impersonated himself as a police officer."
Lougue showed the victims a Department of Correction badge and "took the agreed upon amounts of money back from his victims," stating he would not arrest them, police said.
He is due to return to First District Court on Tuesday.
Anyone with information can call the Narcotics/Vice Squad, 516-573-3400.
