A West Hempstead convenience store clerk was robbed at knifepoint early Thursday, Nassau police detectives said.

The clerk, a 49-year-old woman whose name was withheld by the police, was working at 2 a.m. at a 7-Eleven at 310 Hempstead Ave. when a man armed with a large knife came in with his shirt pulled up masking his face, police said.

He demanded cash and when the clerk complied the man left with the money and he headed north on Hempstead Avenue, police said.

The Robbery Squad asks anyone with relevant information to make a confidential call to Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
