W. Hempstead man held in child porn case
A 56-year-old West Hempstead man will be arraigned Friday on charges he was "manufacturing and distributing" child pornography, police said.
Thomas Ball of 542 Linden St. was arrested at his home Thursday morning and charged with 13 counts of promoting a sexual performance of a child and 13 counts of possessing a sexual performance of a child, Nassau County police said. He was taken to a hospital suffering from "anxiety," police said, and was to be arraigned bedside Friday.
The arrest was the result of an investigation by the Computer Crimes Section of the Crimes Against Property Squad. Police said the charges all relate to crimes allegedly committed between June 16 and Sept. 16, 2010.
