A Wantagh man died after his car struck another car shortly before 9 a.m Sunday.

Nassau police said Preston Stockman, 60, was driving a white 1996 Toyota Camry east on Jerusalem Avenue, just west of Campbell Road in Wantagh when his car entered the westbound lane, and struck a white Buick being driven by a 57-year-old Levittown woman.

Stockman was taken to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The woman was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries, police said.

Police are conducting a brake and safety inspection on both vehicles. Detectives say no criminality is believed to be involved in the accident, at this time.

Jerusalem Avenue reopened later Sunday after being closed while police investigated.
