Water main break in Merrick closes part of road

A water main break in Merrick on Friday evening lead to the closure of the southbound lane of Merrick Avenue between Meadowbrook Road and Jerusalem Avenue.
A dispatcher with the Merrick Fire Department said the break happened earlier Friday evening but he did not know the exact time.
He said he also did not know when it would be corrected.
The break happened near Pat’s Farms, he said.
