A motorcycle driver was killed in a crash with a Mercedes-Benz early Monday in West Hempstead, Nassau County police said.
Christopher Louros, 22, of Franklin Square, was pronounced dead at a hospital after the crash at 12:08 a.m. at Hempstead Turnpike and Morton Avenue, police said.
Louros was driving a 2006 Suzuki west on the turnpike when the driver of a Mercedes 350, also traveling west, made a U-turn, “causing both vehicles to impact,” police said in a news release.
The Mercedes then struck a unoccupied parked 2005 Honda Pilot, police said.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating, and no charges are pending against the driver of the Mercedes, a man, 45, according to police. The driver of the Mercedes was not injured.
Police said both vehicles were impounded for safety inspections.
