A limousine crash in Valley Stream Tuesday morning injured two people and caused a major rush-hour backup on Sunrise Highway, officials said.

A white limousine heading west on Sunrise Highway in front of Green Acres Shopping Mall veered off the road and crashed into a tree on the northbound side, in front of the Long Island Rail Road tracks, according to a police source.

The driver and a passenger in the back of the limousine were taken to hospitals to be treated for injuries. It was not immediately clear how serious the injuries were.

Westbound traffic on Sunrise Highway from Central Avenue to the Queens border was closed after the accident around 7 a.m. and reopened around 9:30.
