State officials said yesterday that an investigation into a Westbury Superfund site will continue next month.

Officials from the state Department of Environmental Conservation will install groundwater monitoring wells at the contaminated site at 123 Post Ave. Officials are to collect groundwater samples from the building, currently home to a dry-cleaning operation, and the surrounding parking lot. Work is to begin in December and will take several months to complete.

Officials will summarize the findings of the investigation in a report for DEC officials to evaluate.

A remedial investigation already conducted had identified contamination in the groundwater near the site by South Grand and South Fulton streets.
