Westbury vehicles broken into, items taken
Ten vehicles parked in Westbury were broken into over the weekend, with electronics, cash and other items stolen from them, Nassau police said.
Police said the crimes occurred between 4 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
A 2010 Toyota and 2007 Mazda parked in the Applebee's parking lot at 1300 Corporate Dr. had windows broken, police said, and a computer and a video-game system were stolen.
At Fulton Street and Drexel Avenue, four vehicles -- a 2006 Nissan, 2006 Cadillac, 1998 Nissan and 1998 Honda -- were broken into and clothing, including a jacket, was stolen, police said.
And an additional four vehicles -- a 1994 Nissan, 2007 Nissan, 2007 Lexus and another Nissan of an unknown year -- parked at 39 Post Ave. also had windows broken, police said. The items stolen included three wallets, two handbags and an unknown amount of cash and credit cards.
Police are investigating, and ask anyone with any information about these crimes to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. Callers will remain anonymous.
