Williston Park to require all film shoots to have village permits
All film shoots in Williston Park will now require permits from the village board.
The board of trustees on Dec. 14 passed a local law to regulate commercial filming, just a month after the November filming of “The Book of Henry”, a movie starring actress Naomi Watts.
This policy change follows the Town of North Hempstead’s August decision to increase filming fees for larger productions such as TV shows and feature films. The town requires a $500 permit fee per day and now also charges an additional $400 to host large staging areas. Filming at town facilities costs $100 per hour.
