Woman, 71, killed crossing Old Country Rd.

A 71-year-old Franklin Square woman died Monday after being struck by a car as she crossed Old Country Road in Carle Place, police said.

Nassau County police said Anna Cedeno died at a hospital after the accident, which occurred at 8 p.m.

Cedeno was struck by a westbound 2006 BMW just east of Zeckendorf Boulevard, police said. The driver remained at the scene and was not charged.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.

Police said there is no apparent criminality in the case.
