Nassau police said an 84-year-old woman was killed in a three-car crash in Westbury on Thursday morning after the car she was riding in was struck at an intersection.
The woman, whom police would not identify, was hit as the Nissan she was riding in tried to maneuver a left turn from northbound Merrick Avenue onto Old Country Road, where it was struck by an eastbound Lexus, Nassau County police said. The Lexus also was struck by an eastbound Audi, police said.
The woman was taken to Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola, where she was pronounced dead at 12:14 p.m.
The drivers were treated at hospitals for minor injuries, police said, and two of the vehicles were impounded for safety and brake checks.
